Pick up at your Amman hotel, then head to the eastern Jordanian desert to see three examples of the Desert Castles, built by the Umayyad caliphs in the 7th and 8th century. Qasr Kharanah is featured by high walls and four corner towers. Qasr Amra is a UNESCO Wold Heritage Site due to its unique fresco paintings representing an early stage of Islamic art. Last visit will be to Qasr Azraq, used already by the Romans, but most popular occupant had been T. E Lawrence of Arabia, who had here his headquarter during the Arab Revolt.
